Company History

Originally doing business under the name Kipe & Associates, Kipe Technology Resources was founded by Bob Kipe in 1991 as a small, premier IT consulting firm with a focus on excellent service and a pledge to operate every facet of the business with the highest degree of integrity. Over the past 18 years the company has grown to be a highly successful, diversified, and well regarded company. In spite of many changes in the IT industry in the last two decades, Kipe Technology Resources has never lost sight of its primary focus to provide excellent service to clients and employees. The company elected a new President, Carol Sampson, in 2002. Ms. Sampson has continued the policies and values that distinguish Kipe Technology Resources as one of Oregon's premier IT consulting firms.

Kipe Technology Resources has a diverse group of developers and architects specializing in leading technologies from Microsoft (Visual Studio, C#, ASP.NET, Enterprise Library, WCF, WPF) as well as open technologies such as Java, JSP, EJB J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, and Struts. Our developers have experience in DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, and Access as well as major operating systems such as UNIX, AIX, SOLARIS, Windows 2003/XP/Vista, and OS/MVS. In addition to outstanding developers, our staff includes top-quality project managers, database administrators, systems administrators, ETL analysts, report developers, technical writers and help desk analysts. We also employ specialists in Informatica, SAP, and Crystal Reports.

All of our consultants possess excellent reputations, are flexible in the capacity in which they can perform, and possess levels of experience that come only through longevity in the consulting industry.

Since its inception Kipe Technology Resources has served over 30 different clients in areas such as manufacturing, insurance, banking, and health care. We have also worked with numerous state and county government agencies. Kipe Technology Resources is based in Beaverton, Oregon. The majority of our clients are in the greater Portland, Oregon area.

There are several aspects of Kipe Technology Resources that make it different from other consulting companies. One is the extent to which the consultant is respected and supported, another is the openness of communication, and a third is the type of companies with which we do business.

For six consecutive years, from 2005 through 2010, the Portland Business Journal designated Kipe Technology Resources as one of the Top 25 Technology Services Providers in Oregon.

In 2010 the Portland Business Journal ranked Kipe Technology Resources one of the Top 50 Women-Owned Businesses in Oregon. This was the fifth consecutive year we've received this honor.

In 2009 Kipe Technology Resources was ranked one of the Top Staffing Firms in Oregon by the Portland Business Journal.

In June 2005 the Portland Business Journal recognized Kipe & Associates for being 9th on the list of the 100 Fastest Growing Private Companies in Oregon.

In March 2005 Kipe & Associates was certified by the state of Oregon as a Women Business Enterprise. The company was re-certified in 2008.

Kipe Technology Resources is also proud to be a founder of The Open Door Education Foundation. The Open Door Education Foundation is dedicated to helping talented young people with limited financial resources get the training and skills necessary to keep America in the technological lead. In May, 2002, the Bob Kipe Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by the Foundation. In 2006 the scholarship was moved to Washington State University.
